TECHNICAL POSITION IN THE FACULTY OF ENGINEERING

NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

The University seeks to recruit applicants with requisite skills and experience for the following post in the Faculty of Engineering:

TECHNICIAN/SENIOR TECHNICIAN (1 POST)

Faculty of Engineering

Duties and Responsibilities will include the following:

-Repairing and maintaining computer equipment in the Faculty of Engineering Computer Laboratory, selecting and purchasing equipment and consumables;

-Ensuring the security and safety of Laboratory Assets;

-Maintaining and controlling the inventory of Faculty Office assets and consumables, and setting up and installing equipment and software in Laboratories and offices within the Faculty;

-Providing first-line Information Technology-related support to staff members and students in the Faculty.

-Assisting in the smooth running of the Local Area Network and troubleshooting network problems.

Applicants must have a relevant first degree in Information Technology/Computer Studies or equivalent, plus at least one year post qualification experience or a Higher National Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent, plus at least 3 years post-qualification experience. Good technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, interpersonal communication and administrative skills are essential. Possession of CompTIA Network+ or A+ certification, or knowledge of AutoCAD, or Engineering software is an added advantage.
