Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Temporary Biology Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction to students from Form 3 to A Level. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Cambridge IGCSE/O Level and AS/A Level Biology, ensuring students are thoroughly prepared for their external examinations. This role requires a strong command of the subject matter, particularly in guiding students through the practical components of the Cambridge syllabus.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Learning

Plan and deliver engaging lessons for Form 3 and 4 (IGCSE/O Level) and Form 5 and 6 (AS/A Level) according to current Cambridge syllabi.

Differentiate instruction to accommodate varying student abilities, ensuring all learners can access the curriculum.

Complete the syllabus within the designated timeframe, ensuring coverage of all key topics prior to examinations.

2. Practical Science

Design and conduct regular biology laboratory practicals to develop students' scientific inquiry skills.

Prepare students specifically for Paper 3 (Advanced Practical Skills) for A Level and Paper 6 (Alternative to Practical) or Paper 5 (Practical Test) for O Level/IGCSE.

Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols during all sessions.

3. Assessment & Reporting

Set, mark, and grade assignments, tests, and internal examinations in line with Cambridge marking standards.

Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to help them improve their exam technique.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, or a directly related field .

Teaching Qualification (e.g., Post Graduate Diploma in Education / PGDE, Dip. Ed, or equivalent).
